What would make a person leave their beautiful garden and enter the world of technology?
This is what I have been pondering lately. I think a lot of people who start blogging have some definite reasons why they started blogging. I started to blog with the great aspirations to keep a family record. I discovered out there in the blogosphere, numerous blogs to inspire me. In addition to blogging about my family's exploits, I wanted to keep a record of my garden. My Dad kept asking me "why do you have two blogs?" The only answer for that: Because I can. My first introduction into mountain gardening had my brain reeling at the possibilities. Part of the downfall of living so remotely is hardly anyone saw what I was creating. I needed to have input from other people, besides my husband, who thought I was nuts everytime I I began to haul rocks back home for another garden. So, one of my main reasons for blogging was for sharing what I created with other people. and to get feedback. I suspect it is the same for many other gardeners who blog. But I think there are some other reasons people blog, and they are honorable in their own right. I will post my list, with hopes that you will tell me the REAL reason you blog. I am just guessing at what brought you to the computer, with your dirty finger nails.
Top Ten Reasons People Blog:
Keep a record of their garden
Share their garden
Teach other people what they have learned
Meet other bloggers and exchange ideas
They have a computer, and feel inclined to use it
Promote their business
As a community service
Advertise
love to write
Therapy ( I am adding this last one because of Nell Jean who shared a tender reason in a comment she left. )
Do you think the list I came up with is all a load of #***?
Your secret is safe with me.
What are your reasons for blogging? What are your motivating factors? I would love to have your feedback! Thanks!
